Automatic punching presses

State-of-the-art servo automatic punching presses from 3,500 kN to 8,000 kN press force are used in this production area at UTC. In contrast to conventional mechanical punching presses, these machines allow the movement of the ram to be adapted to the part or the forming processes. Increased output and higher part quality, especially in drawing operations, are the result.
The die size can be up to 4000 mm long, 1600 mm wide and 1000 mm high. Tool weights of up to 20 tons are used Strip processing lines with coil weights of up to 16 tons, 8 mm plate thickness and 1200 mm strip width ensure a wide range of processing options.
Tandem die change carriages ensure optimum, fast die change and increased productivity of the lines. Complex forming operations can be carried out via freely programmable 3-D transfer devices, with the possibility of using rotary grippers.

Manual insertion presses

Manual insertion presses with a pressing force of up to 315 tons are used in this area. These presses are used as mechanical presses or as hydraulic presses, each with drawing cushion. Drawing depths of up to 400 mm are possible.
The maximum die weight is 8 tons and the die dimensions can be 2500 x 1250 mm with an installation height of 800 mm.
These machines are mainly used to produce smaller batches in manual transfer over various work stages, sometimes with downstream operations such as trimming on the OMERA trimming machine or resistance welding on our spot and projection welding machines.
